Wisconsin’s direct care workforce crisis is leaving people with disabilities and older adults without needed care.
The Wisconsin Board for People with Developmental Disabilities has heard from families and people with disabilities across the state that they can’t find personal care workers, job coaches, respite workers, or therapy aides. People with disabilities rely on direct care worker assistance in order to remain independent, employed, and in the community.
